Kitchen Manager
VISION
Implementing self-sufficient cooking as much as possible, complementing local networking resources. Basing meals on organic products, work with vegetarian and vegan diets to provide healthy nutrition. Spreading awareness about food and cooking as a holistic practice, educating people about food through the culinary experience at A Quinta.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning the meals for the week that include breakfast, lunch and soup for dinner. Every member from the kitchen team has freedom to explore their own recipes but the kitchen manager has to guide them following the principles we base our way of cooking on
Creating the shopping list and do the weekly shopping
Following the tracking system for the daily meals
Keeping the kitchen accounting
Receiving the booking of the meals and responding to them (through the booking platform on the website or personally)
Making sure that the general cleaning of the kitchen space and the dining room space is done every day. On Thursdays for the cleaning day either do the deep cleaning of the kitchen or make sure to show someone else how to do it properly.
Doing the kitchen laundry that includes rags and aprons
Organizing the pantry once per week
Having a quick check-in first thing in the morning with the kitchen team to create a plan for the day and know how everyone feels
Creating a monthly plan for the kitchen that includes projects or improvements
Holding a space with the kitchen team (depending on the needs) to share feedback, updates and future plans
Providing food for the staff kitchen on the weekends
Being in charge of the cleaning up board and the cleaning task for Thursday
Participating in the weekly Core Circle meeting
35 hours/week, from Monday to Friday
IN EXCHANGE WE OFFER
Accommodation in a private room
3 meals/day from Monday to Friday
Food provided for the weekends
Salary 350€/month after successfully completed trial period
Living in a regenerative farm, enjoying the benefits of the lakes, waterfall, mandala garden with herbs and medicinal plants, market garden, agroforest and what the land offers
Living in an off grid, self sufficient community, experiencing community life and enjoying the community programs, like yoga, singing circle, listening circle, dance classes, group meditation and so on.
We are looking for someone who is interested in experiencing life in a community, and who can commit to a minimum period of 2 months.
