Arrival & Facilities

How do I get there?

By Car:
You can use Google Maps to find A Quinta da Lage.

As you approach from either Odemira or São Luis along the N120 road, watch for the intersection at Castelão. Take the road toward Troviscais, and after approximately 2 kilometers (before reaching prominent eucalyptus trees), make a right onto the dirt road, marked by a stone sign indicating the entrance to A Quinta. Follow the road for 1 km until you reach the heart of the farm.

By Bus:
From Lisbon, catch the Rede Expressos bus (www.rede-expressos.pt) departing from Lisbon Sete Rios Bus Station to Lagos. The bus leaves from the station adjacent to Jardim Zoologico Metro Station at 17:30, making a stop in São Luis at 20:10. From Faro, board the train from Faro to Lagos. The next morning, hop on the Rede Expressos bus (www.rede-expressos.pt) from Lagos Bus Station to Lisbon at 8:30. The bus will make a stop at the São Luis bus stop at 10:15. From São Luis you can either hitchhike or call a local taxi service, at +351 933 352 545 or +351 967 732 250.

Alternative Bus Route:
You can take a bus to Vila Nova de Milfontes or Odemira and then take a cab (for approximately 20-25€) to the farm.

Can I park my car/camper van at A Quinta?
Yes, we have car parking onsite. For your camper van it is needed that you book a spot in advance on our Stay page.

Is there a place to do laundry?

Yes, we have a washing machine that our guests can use if much needed. However, please note that since we are off grid, we have limited electricity and the washing machine usually is already heavily used to maintain the daily life of A Quinta. There is a laundry facility in São Luis next to Meu Super, or in Odemira next to Intermarché where you can wash and dry your clothes.

Can I bring my electronic devices and charge them?

Due to our off-grid lifestyle and reliance on solar energy, we have limited access to electricity. We recommend leaving high-energy-consuming devices at home. However, charging basic personal items such as phones is perfectly fine.

Can I bring my dog or any other pet?

Yes, you can bring your pet to A Quinta, but there are a few important conditions. All pets must be treated for ticks and fleas before arriving, and cannot enter the indoor shared spaces. Additionally, pets must be kept under control at all times to ensure the safety of our sheep and cats. Therefore, we welcome well-behaved and manageable dogs, provided their owners agree to abide by these guidelines.

Will I have access to the internet?

Yes, we provide good, satellite internet in the common hall and most of the accommodations, and hotspot in the camping.
